I started my drumming career when asked to do a percussion slot on the Radio for the BBC. I then went onto the schools Jazz band as the lead drummer. After finishing school I went on to study for an OCN music diploma at college followed by an Audio Production higher diploma. The Audio production has grounded me with music software programmes such as Logic and Pro Tools.
I'm not just a drummer, I have a real enthusiasm for the electric Guitar. I'm very keen on being able to contribute to songs as a writer.
I'm a trained and qualified Drum Teacher. I spent my first couple of years of teaching home. I was over heard drumming in rehearsal by Anti-Nowhere league drummer Dave Hazlewood. Dave then trained me for my teaching qualification and employed me to teach for 2 years at One8e studios. I now teach privately at my own studio that is fully equipped with two kits and recording equipment. I have taught students from 7 - 50 years old. I'm known for bringing out the best in students in their confidence and in themselves. I've always been known for my patience and making the lessons fun and productive at the same time.
I can play a vast array of genres, from symphonic power metal of Crimson Tears, working with producer Karl Groom of "Threshold", to pop singers such as Maria Willson, plus jazz and of course my favourite - rock. I'm very confident with the click track, due to recording with a lot of bands in the studio and running a home studio of my own. I've recently performed at the Barfly in Camden and Islington Academy with Stefano Giorgini with real prospects of working with Stefano in LA later this year.
I was asked to join the well known Brighton band, "Jonny Quality" I encountered playing festivals such as "WOMAD" that had such acts like Robert Plant from Led Zeppelin on the same bill.
"Jonny Quality" after their tour with Fatboy Slim, they also played on the Conan O'Brien Show in New York, appeared on national British television appearing on shows such as "The Jonathan Ross Show" and Jools Holland's "Later". Jonny Quality donated one of their songs "Long Way from Home" to Fatboy for his album "Palookaville". They were Brighton's biggest band selling out every gig and were regulars on the Brighton circuit and other venues around the UK.
After touring with Busted, Maria asked me to join. Her well known hits include "Chooza Looza" and "Mr. Alibi". I took to the stage with Maria playing gigs such as Teenage Cancer Trust at the Royal Albert Hall, (Maria and her band were featured in "Hello" magazines coverage). The TCT gig featured acts such as "The Fratellis" and Roger Daltrey from "The Who" "Phats and Small" and Janet from "The Shapeshifters". I continue to gig and record with Maria, recently playing at the Mallory Park Motocross GP and plans to play abroad in Belgium, Morocco and Germany.
